Impact damage by dropping furniture and other items onto stair edges causes cracks and snips to the nosings of the staircase.

Unlike damage to a stone floor, which can be replaced, damage to stairs must be repaired as replacement is not economically viable. When a staircase is built, the treads sit on top of the risers. They are keyed into the wall on one side, with the handrail drilled into the tread on the other. Thus replacement of a single stair tread would be a major undertaking, leaving repair as the cost effective alternative.

We also refurbished joint lines and did hole repairs and tile replacements. We then mechanically resurfaced and diamond polished, included staircase treads and risers.
